COURTHOUSE BLUES - Music from the Delaware Bar
The practice of law is a demanding vocation, requiring tremendous time commitment and stress. Moreover, this discipline can be intellectually, emotionally and physically challenging. It only makes sense that devotees to the practice of law would need creative outlets to add balance to their lives.
Harnessing the musical talents of members of the Delaware Bar, Community Legal Aid Society, Inc. (CLASI) has compiled Courthouse Blues. All proceeds from the sale of this compilation of songs will fund the provision of legal services to indigent, elderly and disabled persons represented by Community Legal Aid Society.
The album is a collection of performances by lawyers and lawyer-led ensembles. Courthouse Blues is a compilation of musical genres, paying homage to Old Time Music, American Folk, Country, Rhythm 'n Blues and Rock. Contributors include:
- leading employment lawyer Sheldon Sandler on banjo with Carl Goldstein on guitar;
- corporate counsel Kevin Walsh on electric guitar with his band Vinyl Shockley;
- Wilmington's own Mike Kelly singing the title song supported by brothers Tom and Kevin Walsh on guitar;
- Ted Rosenthal on guitar and vocals;
- Sussex Countian singer/songwriter/guitar player Kim Debonte;
- CLASI's own executive director, Jim McGiffin, singing with Dover Mountain Band and Rogues Without Brogues.
Courthouse Blues showcases the tremendous talents of lawyers who can do something in addition to lawyering. The official release was in January,2002 to great acclaim. As a result of this tremendous response, we expect the inventory to sell like hotcakes! The purchase price is $15. Hurry before they're all gone and the music is just a faded memory!
