CLASI condemns the brutal murder of George Floyd in Minneapolis at the hands of police officers. We are horrified at the continued loss of Black lives. We mourn for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery, to name three of many.
We weep at the physical and structural violence that has been inflicted on the Black community for generations. Silence is not an option.
CLASI rejects racism and white supremacy both inside and outside our office. We must do better. We must challenge racism in every aspect of our lives. We will strive to further challenge racist systems in all the work that we do to empower Delawareans who have long been isolated and discriminated against. We will not turn away.
