Housing Legal Services

CLASI provides free legal assistance to Delaware residents in the following areas:
Subsidized Housing Eviction/Termination
We assist people with low incomes who live in “subsidized housing,” meaning the rent is based on income, including Section 8 housing (project-based and vouchers), public housing, low-income housing, and tax credit housing, and are facing:
- Eviction
- Lockout
- Termination of the housing subsidy
- Unsafe living conditions
Fair Housing
We assist people who believe they have experienced discrimination in housing transactions, including renting, buying, or applying for a mortgage, based on their:
- Race
- Color
- National origin
- Religion
- Creed
- Sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity)
- Marital status
- Age
- Discapacidad
- Source of income
Manufactured Housing
We assist people who are manufactured housing homeowners and homeowner associations who believe their rights have been violated.

If you think you may be eligible for legal help, contact the CLASI office in your county listed below. Please have any notices or papers related to your issue with you, if possible.
A CLASI clerical team member will ask you for basic intake information. If you are eligible for services and have a legal problem that we handle, your information will be given to a member of our legal staff who will review it and contact you.
If you are not eligible, we will do our best to connect you with other agencies or resources that might be able to help.
