CLASI\u2019s Disability Rights Delaware (formerly the Disabilities Law Program) wants to hear from you!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Disability Rights Delaware is the state\u2019s designated Protection and Advocacy agency under federal law. We provide advocacy services to individuals with disabilities to protect them from abuse and neglect and to advocate for their legal rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To ensure that our limited resources are used to address issues of importance to people with disabilities, we are seeking input from Delawareans with disabilities, their families, professionals, health care and service providers, and the public, to guide us in determining our areas of focus for the next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Disability Rights Delaware<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Disability Rights Delaware (DRD), formerly known as the Disabilities Law Program, is a special project of Community Legal Aid Society, Inc. It is designated by the Governor as the federally mandated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) system and Client Assistance Program (CAP) in Delaware.\u2028\u2028<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DRD provides free advocacy services to Delaware residents with physical or mental disabilities. We prioritize our services based on federal agency guidance and needs identified by consumer and community groups.\u2028<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is a P&A?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The U.S. Congress created the national Protection and Advocacy (P&A) system in 1975 to address abuse, neglect, and lack of services in institutions for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is now a P&A in every state and U.S. territory. Learn more about what a P&A does here:\u2028<\/p>\n\n\n\n
