On July 16, 2022, the new 988 crisis line launched nationwide. Here’s what you should be aware of if you or someone you know needs behavioral health crisis services in Delaware:

  • Someone to talk to:  The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline and Veterans Crisis Line can now be reached by simply calling or texting a three-digit number, 988, and can also still be accessed at the existing number 1-800-273-8255.
  • Other crisis response:  Use existing numbers for other hotlines and crisis services, especially if an in-person response is needed.  For mobile crisis response call:
      • Adult Crisis Hotline: 1-800-652-2929 (Northern DE);
        1-800-345-6785 (Southern DE)
      • Youth Crisis Hotline: 1-800-969-HELP (4357)
  • For immediate danger: Call 911

If you need to speak with someone for mental health support, information, or referrals, but are not in crisis, you can call DSAMH’s Delaware HopeLine: 1-833-946-7333.
