The Public Benefits Unit helps people to achieve economic stability by ensuring that low-income individuals and families can access critical supports, including food and cash assistance, health insurance, and disability benefits.
Our Services
We provide free legal assistance to people facing denials, reductions, or terminations of the following government benefits:
- Cash assistance (TANF and General Assistance)
- SNAP (Food Stamps) and WIC
- Medicare and Medicaid
- LIHEAP home energy assistance
- Childcare subsidies
- Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) disability benefits
