Careers at CLASI

Why Work at CLASI?
“I knew I was looking for a work environment where I could feel fulfilled and grounded, knowing that the work that I do is making a material difference in people’s lives, particularly those who are historically underserved. After spending a summer as an intern at CLASI, and seeing everyone’s commitment to the work, as well as the network of care and support that exists here, I knew it was definitely the right fit for me.”
– CLASI Staff Attorney, Housing Unit
Each day, our staff members make a meaningful difference in the lives of the clients we serve. They provide critical assistance to the individuals and families who need it most, surrounded by talented colleagues who are dedicated to our common mission: combating injustice through creative and persistent advocacy on behalf of vulnerable and underserved Delawareans.
Our staff work to protect our clients’ fundamental rights by assisting them in individual cases, helping to keep them housed, fed, and safe from violence. In addition to individual representation, they also work for systemic change through impact litigation, community education, and legislative and policy advocacy on the state and national levels.
CLASI attorneys and advocates regularly draft legislation, provide testimony before the Delaware General Assembly, author op-eds, are quoted in media outlets, and participate in many statewide, regional, and national advocacy coalitions to further the interests of our clients.
Our Culture
CLASI is an inclusive, collaborative workplace and we are proud of our supportive, collegial work environment.
Our passionate, mission-driven attorneys and advocates are experts in their fields. They are deeply committed to our clients and to mentoring the next generation of public interest leaders. CLASI provides our staff with extensive training and professional development opportunities.
We are dedicated to cultivating a workplace where our staff feel valued and have the resources they need to be successful. CLASI was recognized as a Delaware “Top Workplace” in 2025 for the eighth time, based on employee feedback gathered through an anonymous third-party survey.
CLASI is an Equal Opportunity Employer and we are committed to fostering a welcoming and respectful environment for all of our staff and clients.

“Our staff is our most valuable asset. We know that the work that we do is vitally important to our community, so to know that the people doing it day in and day out feel supported and nurtured is so meaningful.“
– CLASI Executive Director Dan Atkins
